Granite is naturally a porous material and needs to be sealed periodically. We professionally apply a three-step sealer, which prevents staining and blocks bacteria. The sealer we use will last approx. five years with normal use. With some stones the sealer will last much longer. Mild stone cleaners or soap and water is all that is needed to maintain your granite countertop between sealings.

Quartz countertops are an engineered stone product used in residential and commercial kitchen and bath applications. Quartz countertops are made by mixing and compressing natural quartz, derived from granite, with epoxy based resins.

Quartz countertops are made by a number of manufactures and therefore come in a wide variety of colors. If the natural veining and crystals in granite do not appeal to you, then the more consistant, uniform look of quartz may be the perfect choice for you. Quartz is a very durable, non-porous surface that does not need to be sealed as some other stone products do. It is very scratch and heat resistant, second only to granite.
